The park was alive with birdsong this morning, mainly coming from a pair of competing Robins, a very vocal Song Thrush and lots of chattering Goldfinches.
Also seen were the usual Magpies, Starlings, Blackbirds, Wood Pigeons, Blue Tits and Great Tits as well as some Greenfinches.
Up in Tyldesley town centre a solitary Redwing was calling high in a tree amongst a flock of 15 Goldfinches.

A quick walk round before the kids came out of school this I afternoon produced:
1 solitary Redwing high up in a tree - there may I have been 2 around 4 and 20 Blackbirds (well not quite, but 16-18) all feeding on berries 2 Song Thrushes in the waxy leaved berry trees (I must learn tree names) 2 Great Tits 1 Blue Tit A small flock of 8 to 10 Goldfinches 2 Magpies 1 Collared Dove 1 Grey Squirrel
A great little place to visit during school hours!
