try Hobson Moor Road, Stalybridge, near higher landslow green farm (I think) been upto 70 birds seen this winter.
Basically the Farm is about as far as you can drive. Look in this general area a couple of hundred metres in either direction.

Hi Dean,
I've no suggestions to add but thought I'd say hello too as a fellow Mossley-ite. I've never seen a brambling either so thanks Steve for these tips!

Hi Dean
good to hear from another birdwatcher in Mossley.
Most reliable site I know is Chew Piece plantation at Dove Stone. Their favourite food is beech mast so higher up the plantation is best. The woods on the private road from the Clarence to the foot of Dove Stone dam can also be quite good. Also the old railway path from Mossley to Greenfield, particularly by the old station house in Greenfield (opposite the sewage works).
Good luck, Steve

Hi all, I'm dean from mossley, east Manchester. I've been birding seriously for around five years and I'm gradually becoming more confident with my sightings. One bird I'm hoping to see this winter is brambling. Would anybody know of regular spots in my part of the world where I may possible have a good chance of a sighting? Am I correct in thinking that visit gardens, parks areas and woodlands?
Cheers guys. Dean
