You could try putting a small rubber ball in there, the water around the ball should stay unfrozen

i had a feeling there was nothing we can do to prevent this, ill just keep replacing it then,
i was expecting a funny comment by someone saying have you tried antifreeze in the water though we all know this is a No no, i guess ill try the thermos then

Try using a thermos instead of the bath, it should keep the cold out

A simple question with no simple answer? every morning i break the ice out the garden bird bath and restock with fresh water, is there any tricks or tips we can do to keep our bird baths with unfrozen water for the birds to drink or is it just a case of keep replacing with fresh every morning?
