This year (and last) the print run was 220. They are still available from Judith and most of the outlets Judith listed below.

Etherow - I shall do Stockport Binoculars and ECP on the same day, and will have to find out when both are open (ECP varies) which may be next week. Also I have to avoid the Trafford centre queues on the M60!!

No. sorry. We've tried them in the past at Daisy Nook but for the small number we can sell, it's not worth the petrol taking them there. By post from me, or possibly come to an arrangement with Steve Suttill who lives in Mossley, who could bring one home for you?

About 50 reports were posted today to those who had sent cheques, or were contributors in some way to the 2009 report (eg photographers, authors of short notes, articles etc), today - the only exceptions were one or two people whose addresses I am waiting for and who have been sent emails, + Ian McK himself as I have other items for him which won't post easily! Also the Bolton RSPB ones have been delivered to Tony Johnson, so will be available at their next meeting. I'm waiting to hear from Sale Water Park Vis. Centre as to when they are open next week (if at all).

Apologies Ian, my AOL software seems to effect any updates so I don't see them until a day or so later. I always check "whats new" before progressing to the forum. Picked mine up from Steve S today (nice to meet you Steve), as usual excellant work by all involved. Personally I think its a steal for the price !

Hopefully I will be picking it up from MARC on Edge St tomorrow afternoon. However, in the present weather conditions I shall not be delivering to centres such as Sale WP, Stockport Bins, Martin Mere, Etherow CP, Hollingworth Lake, until this severe weather ameliorates. Also Liz at Sale WP Visitor Centre tells me that cuts in staff make opening the centre very hit and miss. I will post again when I have delivered to centres.

Steve has informed me that the county report has indeed been received literally hot off the press.
Details of where to obtain your copy are currently being uploaded onto the 'county notice board' on the website (where it should be so it doesn't get 'lost' under a load of other posts) . Give it 30 minutes or so to process from the time of this post!
As for cost, I'm not sure (usually £6 or £6:50) but either way it's a steal!

Yes Paul the report is a tad bit late, however the Pagan festival of Yuletide will now be extended to cover the whole festive period into the new year.
The 200 Club has ordered snow, which I believe most areas have got now, also on order are the following.
Drake Smew, flocks of Bewick Swans, Barnacle Geese, Velvet Scoter, White-billed Diver, Lesser White fronted goose, a couple of Nutcrackers and a partridge in a pear tree.
Have fun trying to find something other than Waxwings, and enjoy the report when it arrives in 2011

Steve Suttill does the colour printing and has the body of the report printed and bound at a printer in Uppermill. Part of the delay was caused by another reason, about which I will PM you privately, so as not to embarrass a user of this forum. It was outside my control. I had my part (ie all the text) with Steve by mid September, despite the inevitable delay during the BTO atlas years 2007-11 (so it will be the same next year). This is because the BTO do not send the atlas data until the 30th June - 2 months later than the normal start date of the writing of the report. The report is intended as a scientific, definitive record and it is important that this BTO data is incorporated into the database before we start writing it. I don't think you can usefully make a comparison with Spurn - a one-site report. Lancashire have chosen not to wait for the BTO data and so were able to have their report out at the usual time, ditto Derbyshire. Cheshire's usually comes out in January or February.

Which printer is doing this, John Bull with his trusty little rubber blocks and wooden frame? I noticed that the 2009 report for Spurn was out a couple of weeks ago. I'm guessing, but I'm pretty sure that they had a few more details and stuff to get into print (in fact I know they did, because I read a summary). Perhaps a rethink on the printer for next time (unless they discount us for the delay!!).
