Anyone who fancies a day or half a day in a hide this winter,where you are almost guarenteed most common species,only a few feet away from your lens.on set up feeding perches,where you cannot see the feed,all looking very natural(check out any I have in the galleries on here for Glazebury or my flickr link below,and they were taken from the feeding station, Which is situated on private farmland.1 or 2 people are ok as the hide is quite big.

The hide sessions start in October-April

Charlie charges a nominal fee for the sessions,but he puts the money back into the feeding,which costs charlie in the region of £700 per winter to feed,and it keeps a lot of birds alive in the winter.Also there is not a more experienced bird photographer locally than charlie,so he can help you a lot. He is not digital,but can help you with all the correct sttings required.

I finally made it to Charlie's hide today. The weather was spot on. Cold and sunny. (I've waited weeks for this) I would recommend this to any photographer.
Highlights for me were the Sparrowhawk and Tree Sparrows that I have been trying to capture for a very long time to no avail. Others seen, and all in fantastic light were: Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Nuthatch, Long Tailed Tit, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Great Tit, Pheasant, Jay, Robin, Wren, Great Spotted Woodpecker.
I will certainly be going back.

That's good to hear Joe. I've been in contact with Charlie since seeing John's post a few weeks ago, and am now just awaiting some decent weather. Can't wait. I am sure the sun will shine soon at the weekend.

Just been out with Charlie today. An excellent day's photography with great birds and company. Personal highlights were Sparrowhawk at very close range and 14 Tree Sparrow! An excellent place for my new camera body to have a test run!

Spent a good day with Charlie today in his hide, superb for photos, very similar to the birds at penny flash feeding station but in the open with much better light, the sun behind us lighting up the birds nicely, constant steam of birds coming through, within 6ft of us all sat on different perches we had 20 tree sparrows, goldfinch, coal tits, blue tits, great tits, long tailed tits, greenfinch, chaffinch, great spotted woodpecker, nuthatch, pheasant, jays and a sparrowhwk blasted through having a go at what was there and almost flew into the hide, best birds of the day were the jays and tree sparrows for me, great views

anyone interested give charlie a ring on the numbers in my post,and he will jot your name and number in his book,so he knows how many people are interested,and if its worth his while doing the sessions again this winter-no need for firm dates,just so he is aware of the interest,as i spoke to charlie at the weekend,and he said no one had contacted him from the site up to thencharlie doasn't have a computer,so would not read on here who is interested.
