Ian, whats this did you take the wrong turn on your way to Elton this morning or are you expanding you twitching parameters?. You will be going to Norfolk next.
I saw my first Baird's Sandpiper at Eyebrook Resr back on the 26th September 1994, slightly further than Lound but not much.
I trust you made copious notes and will have no problem identifying a self found one at Elton in the forthcoming weeks!

............................ Cheers Simon It was a bit further than Elton! and did involve a 1 hour+ hold up on the M62 near Leeds!!!. Still it's good to see a new bird and yes, I'm looking forward to finding one(or TWO!) at Elton now. Cheers Ian

Was there there was a big group of Red Crested Pochard on the lake opposite the Bairds. Up to 32 individuals I ws told by a local birder. Missed out on the crane due to closed roads earlier in the day.
