There was a Nandy Canure (spelling?) that lived around Pennington Flash for at least 5 years. It appeared more than capable of defending itself against the attentions of magpies and was even reported to have squared up to a sparrowhawk if I remember correctly. Some parrot spp live in mountainous regions where climate can be very similar to the UK, and the mild winters (excluding last winter obviously) and garden feeding that goes on in the UK probably helps some survive.

I think it's because RnP is more suited to our climate... But I'm probably wrong.

Can Cokatiels and Budgies survive for long in the wild,I have been told that they are attacked by other birds for being strange.
If so how do Ringed Necked Parakeets survive ?.
