How about accessing on the website his fine articles on Caspian Gulls and changing all the drawings and photos that purport to be of Caspians to those of Herring Gulls. In our heart of hearts, we all really know don't we that they are one and the same species anyway? Then on his return we can tell him that whilst he has been away, very urgent decisions have been made on the Herring Gull complex by the birding powers that be and all supposed splits/species have all just been lumped together again! Also that all supposed splits for this complex have been re-named and in future they must all be called by the scientific name of seagull........but if you want to get really technical you can use the latin name of Seagull nobodylikesus.
It's amazing the things that could happen when you leave the fort unguarded....
Cheers,
Not really Bill but someone who has hijacked my user name to try and pass off the above ruse in a pathetic attempt to try and discredit me!

Tut tut boys . Do you really think I could leave one of the UK's busiest and best birding forums to run wild for a whole week? You must be crazy. The mighty finger of moderation can reach even from the depths of the middle east...
