Peregrine in Chorley this morning at 11 am. Flew to Morrisons (Supermarket) former mill chimney with prey.......ate prey on second ledge of the chimney then flew over the town being halfheartedly mobbed by a single Herring Gull. Spotted from the car by my partner (Lisa) need to start a "Raptors from the car" list ;)

Looks like a red ring on the right leg in the picture on the Chorley Nats web site. Steve

Sounds like it's not a Peregrine ringed in GM as all birds have been given Darvic (plastic) rings - mostly red but can be blue or blacl, with a white letter and numeral eg A1. However, it's quite likely it could have lost its Darvic (swans often do). NXY bred at Lower Healey last year.

Judith,
Sorry but the rings are only metal ones from what I can see. I didn't know whay darvics are.
I did post pictures . Maybe Ian can forward them on to you , or I can ?
You can always look on Chorley NATS website.
Are you interested in NXY ?
Regards,
Chris Rae.

What I think is a female Peregrine has been around Chorley town centre for some weeks now.
It has rings (darvics ?) on both legs and a Chorley NATS member has suggested that it could be from the Manchester city center site.
Can anyone help shed some light on this situation ?
