When the ice melted he floated in the the trees next to where he died (about 10 metres down the path heading towards Wigan. I managed to pull it to the edge and it's lying there on the bank, so somebody could come and pick it up.

I've heard there was one dead there this afternoon - probably the same bird. Too far out on the ice to get the body.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I found a Signet this morning at Ince Moss. I think he had a stomach infection because I found him walking on the canal on Friday and he was sick. Last few days hes been looking weak and lathargic. He doesn't have a tag on, and I don't know who to contact to have him removed.
