Stopped off just south of Hest Bank on the way back from Leighton Moss.
Usual large flock of roosting Oystercatcher 1500-2000 Curlew - good numbers Black-tailed Godwit - ditto Whimbrel 7-8 Bar-tailed Godwit several Ringed Plover - 3 Knot 3 juveniles Redshank Turnstone 3, 1 still in remains of breeding plumage Eider c10, plus 3 juvenile males Dunlin several

Wednesday, March 5th. Walk from Hest Bank to Heysham over high tide.
Oystercatchers. Redshanks. Shelducks. Wigeons. Turnstones. Curlews. Knot(s). Dunlins. Great-crested Grebe 1. Meadow Pipit 1. Cormorant 1. All 5 regular species of Gulls.

Shorelark feeding along the shoreline between the red container and the bench at midday today. We heard the contact call as soon as we arrived but it took us 20 mins to locate the bird.

Would love to spend a couple of days at morcombe bay doing a bit of birding, does anyone know of any good places to stop and any tips to get the best out of my birding.
