To be perfectly honest I've never really liked this thread much as once again it's another 'species' thread which does cause confusion. Do observers post here or on the relevant site threads, or perhaps even both? Site threads rule I'm afraid .
Pink-footed Geese have a dedicated thread to enable the possible tracking of skiens across the county. Other species however serve little purpose to have their own threads though.

Next year the BTO will be running a Wintering Thrushes Survey to see how these winter visitors use the countryside and how the changing landscape may impact upon them.
We are encouraging you to use BirdTrack to tell us more about any Redwings and Fieldfares you encounter this autumn and winter

Walking down claude road in chorlton at sunset saw 10 redwings and 2 fieldfares feeding in small 8ft trees. The birds were exceptionally tame and allowed you to walk under them to within a foot or two - the best views i've ever had of either thrush!

Over 20 Fieldfares in and around the MacDonalds Car Park having a very healthy late lunch in the afternoon at Pilsworth accompanied by Balckbirds. There appeared to be quite a few all around the leisure park and some around the motorway too. The total number could have been much higher.
