Does that mean if the RSPB are taking over Dovestones will be full of breeding Black Headed Gulls in the near future, like every other reserve they have in the N.W.?

Hi Mike,
There has been a discussion about the new RSPB reserve under the Saddleworth thread which is the reason why you couldn't find it. Probably a cunning ploy by the locals to stop too many people finding out about it

The RSPB are currently in the process of taking over management of a new reserve near Saddleworth - Dove Stone. It will be 40km2 of moorland with a full range of visitor activities centred at Dove Stone Reservoir.
They we will have lots of volunteer opportunities there from late 2009/early 2010, ranging from practical conservation work, surveying as well as showing people birds and running events and leading guided walks.
Also you can have a say in the development of the site here Anyone interested in volunteering could email kirsten.whittaker@rspb.org.uk
Regards
