I cycled the stretch from Springfield Farm to Jackson's brickworks this evening on the way home from work.
This is a great stretch for warblers once spring is fully under way. There was not too much song tonight: just a couple of Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers. However, I was pleased to find my first Lesser Whitethroat of the year, rattling loudly from the hedgerows about 200 yards north of the A6 (SJ944858). This area is usually reliable for Garden Warbler and I have also seen Sedge Warbler in the past.
