Bad news though re: the beer thingies - just to make it easier for 'Charlie Chav' to cart his four pack of cheap cider around!
Mad to think also that Wigan was the place for the 'Keep Britain Tidy' campaign - obviously that didn't incorporate King Street in the early hours(!)
Shame for all the poor animals that have to suffer though eh?
Neil.

Years ago there was some 1/2 hour documentary about Herrag the Herring Gull (yes it's true) where the problem with plastic beer can holders was an important part of the prog. My wife and I have cut them up reiligously ever since. Does anyone else remember this prog or are we both going mad!!
Herrag - The Herring Gull Herrag is born on the island of Steep Holm in the Bristol Channel. This film follows her adventures, funny and sad, over the first five years of her amazing life. Narrated by John King. Another animal drama from the makers of last year's 'Rush - The Fallow Deer'.
Think it was filmed by Simon King?

Always a nightmare these incidents, this bird is doing the rounds, and has been reported at a number of locations. Whilst it can fly its difficult to catch. as are the geese in GM who have bolts etc stuck in them?
Remember to cut up those ringholders when you have your beer.

Howdy folks - anyone know if this bird's okay?
My wife and I were walking along the canal (Monday 8th April, 2009, approx. 16:30) and saw this poor fellow on the water, he'd got his head and neck stuck in one of those plastic/acrylic 'four pack' beer ring-thingies - and although not appearing injured looked to have it stuck fast.
I telephoned the RSPCA and they took details in order for someone to come out.
Anyone any info. re: this - I hope the wee chap's okay.
Please let me know.
Regards.
Neil.
