A 14 mile cycling/birding trip today was worth it as I found a Stonechat near Delph, the bird is at the junction of Heights Lane & Stoney Lane in the juncus marsh & bulrushes

Yellow-browed Warbler calling and seen briefly at 10am at the junction of Hull Mill Lane and Delph Lane, not far from where it was seen on Saturday.

First Willow Warbler heard and seen on 9th, a few more today. Unusual to hear Willow Warbler before Chiffchaff. Haveany other sites experienced this in 2009?

1 white wagtail on river
15 nests in crossroads rookery
2 ringed Dippers battling it out at Delph bridge - male from Delph and one from Slackcote judging by photos. Delph female flew past whilst this was all going on.
Oystercatcher flying over at midnight (heard from house not walking back from pub!)
