Late news of a Little Egret flying towards Wigan along the R Douglas at Red Seas, 12th Jan.

Bittern on Crooke Marsh 17th (info from David Westhead)

Adult male Goosander on the River Douglas this morning near Martland Mill Bridge but flew. Probably the same bird was later with what looked like three immature males on Walmsley's Flash but again they quickly flew off. Seven Tufties, two Mute Swans, two Grey Herons, Mallard, Coot and Moorhen also there.
