Late on yesterday afternoon they was a Red Kite floating around over junction 10 of the M56.

On the drive over to St Helens late morning counted 5 Common Buzzards on posts/fences along the stretch of the M56 from Dunham to the M6 and a further 6 on the M62 margins to Junction 7.

That was my tetrad for the CAWOS atlas and I regularly had flocks of several hundred during the day there. Never got up at dawn though
Hi Tony
It was a pleasant diversion from the stationery traffic in front of me. I can't say I like getting up early but I have no choice these days - a lot of travelling for work.
Have you got a grid reference for Rushy Pits Covert?
Cheers
Mike

Yesterday morning at dawn, while sat in the car park known as the M56 (approx 1m west of Altrincham junction), I watched over 3000 Woodpigeons fly over heading north. All appeared to be coming out of some small woods just south of the motorway.
