Paul was it yourself I was talking to this morning? (I was up there with my camera) Anyway stayed till 9.30, had a good couple of hours searching in pretty grim weather and no sign of the bird. B.O.P active...Didn't get a brilliant view but probably was a Sparrowhawk.

The pitfalls of twitching meant I could not make it last night dam shame I believe it showed very well.
First light this mornng no sign weather bad up there, stayed till 7.30, may come back this afternoon, but seems its going the way of the harrier and alluding me.
Keep birding.

Hi John Rayner, Congratulations on reaching no. 200 with your Snow Bunting today! This is the first time I've entered anything on this type of facility, and as I said to you on the 'phone I was rather apprehensive that I might be exposed to attempts at grooming. As you replied, -"I should be so lucky!" Will probably see you tomorrow at the Steppe Grey Shrike?

Hi Ian, That OS Co-ordinate should be SJ955924, not SD (Yorkshire Dales).

A male Snow Bunting was present mid-afternoon atleast between Hyde and Compstall on Werneth Low Road at SD955924 and was said to be very confiding.
Info thanks to Judith Smith (via the ranger who found it)
