9-30am to 11am. cool and cloudy. At Cutnook side. 3 Yellowhammer, 2 Corn bunting, 2 Mistle thrush. 20 Goldfinch, 6 L.T. Tit. Lots of Blackbirds, Crows, Magpies. 5 good flocks of chaffinch(20/30 birds in each) but no Bramblings yet. Numerous Blue & Great tits. No rapters today and still a dearth of winter thrushes despite the amount of hawthorn available. On the way home I reached the sliproad back over the motorway bridge and there in the verge eating and tweeting was a Grey wagtail (1st winter I think). This really made my day in these circumstances and just about made up for not getting the GW Egret yesterday at Rindle road. cheers Mike
