Yeah, Dunnington is where I heard too.

There has been a Hoopoe spotted in the York area. The best sightings have been to the west in a village called Dunnington.

Sightings have been made on forums since the 16th July.

I'm afraid I can't give any definite confirmation on this, but apparently a hoopoe was spotted several times in York on Wednesday/Thursday.
