A ten minute visit to the same spot in Hale this evening saw at least two Snipe, two or three Yellow Wagtails, Wheatear, Skylark, Goldfinches, Redshank, possible White Wagtail [too far to be certain], Shelduck etc
Is it me or is there a sudden population spike in Goldfinches - they're everywhere this year?

Sorry Rob, you got your post in there before me, so you have now answered my question.
Thanks for helping me!!
I suppose a Wood Sandpiper in Altrincham was too much to ask, a nice thought though until unfortunately you confirmed it was in Merseyside!!
Never mind!!
Cheers
Phil

Apologies, correct me if I'm wrong but I was thinking it was in Hale Altrincham which is only 10 mins down the road from me.
Would be a nice local tick!!
Cheers

Phil, copy and paste the link in Rob's post below and you will see Hale, just north of the river Mersey.
