Very sad sight of a Barn Owl that has been killed by road traffic, its on the central reservation of the M62 East bound about 1 mile before junction 8. I didn't really want to post this, not what you'd like to hear but someone on here may have been watching this beautiful bird so thought they might need to know whats happened.
Sorry

Barn Owls are a common bird (common as any Barn Owl can be) around the Astley and Chat Mosslands and have always been so,this could possibly be where the Cheshire restock is coming from.

Ringed a female in a nest box in Mobberley yesterday, the third new bird recently in the area. The sterling efforts of the local Barn Owl groups are certainly paying off; where are all these unringed birds coming from? The weight 355 gms was that of a bird in breeding condition; expect Barn Owls near you soon? Why bother with the Somerset Levels or the Wirral?!!!!!, watch your own Barn Owls.
Sorry
