It has become apparent that the use of psuedonyms on this Manchester Birding Forum is on the increase, so for those who haven't read the 'sticky' WELCOME TO THE FORUM, PLEASE READ message at the top of the treads, I have included a relevant section from it below:
When registering please ensure to use your name rather than a psuedonym (which will not be accepted) as this enables me to credit observers will their sightings and to contact them for clarification if necessary. Your user name should appear as your first and last name i.e. ian mckerchar.
Whilst I have allowed them up to a point it seems to the time has come for the psuedonyms to go, afterall the whole point of the forum for us to communicate and it's not easy if you have to call someone 'cheeseyratfaceboy' now is it? (No, don't go looking, I can assure you there's no one of that name on the forum...yet ). I have no intention of this forum going along the same route as others where psuedonyms rule and everyone's is ridiculous and I have no doubt the vast majority of users to this forum would agree.
So I would ask that all users using psuedonyms change their username to their 'real' names, anyone not knowing how this should be done can just let me know (privately) and I'll do it for you, those not wanting to change theirs will have it changed anyway regardless
Sorry to wield 'the big stick' but as before I don't want to see the forum 'cheapened' or following the same footsteps of others, our forum, thanks to you the users, has grown beyond belief and the information on a daily basis is frankly awesome. My sincere thanks are to you all
