I've spotted oystercatchers in this area on a couple of previous occasions in previous years and wonder whether anyone else knows about the presence of this species around this locality?

Just drove past Sainsburys (other supermakets availible) and there are a couple of hundred Starlings on the old church facing the station. Seemed early for a roost might be worth a look later.

At least 150 in the roost at 5.30pm today, with quite a few birds flying around between the trees and a tall building accross fron Cafe Nero.
I don't know whether this is a nightly roost, as today was my first visit since my last post.

My wife told me there were lots of birds in these trees one night when we were home on holiday. Unfortunately she could not describe them in detail but I now suspect they may have been wagtails. I wonder if they are attracted by the smell of coffee?
