my local bad boy flew into my mates window last week and knocked himself out for 3/ 5 mins (long enough to be caught on the phones camera) shook himself ,flew onto the fence preened, and went on his way as though it was an occupational hazard,

While doing my garden earlier this afternoon in Swinton a large female Sparrowhawk took out a Collared Dove which was waiting for me to give it some food on my bird table. The Hawk sat in the middle of my lawn as it removed some of the doves feathers while never taking its eyes off me while I was standing within 20` of it. After a couple of minutes the Sparrowhawk flew off taking the dove with it. A good close sighting of a beautiful bird of prey.
At 17.30 I heard a mewing sound overhead towards the town centre and saw 2 Sparrowhawks which had locked talons spinning through the air for about 20 seconds . As they separated 20+ Starlings flew up to meet them and chase them off.
I get Sparrowhawks in my garden nearly every week attacking the birds on my feeders .The female favours the doves and the male goes for the Goldfinches and Sparrows.
