brian,your walking on hallowed ground,it is a very well watched bit of the gm patch but we don,t all get there at the same time or day,it,s covered as abram flashes,wigan flashes,dover basin etc on the forum but please stick to your
title (or change it if you like)so if its your regular walk every one will understand where you,ve seen them

It is well watched and recorded by Terry Thorpe on an almost daily basis. I get his records via the BTO Birdtrack so I'm afraid you'll have to buy a county report to find out what's been seen! Also I do quite a lot in the Abram Flashes.

does anyone here watch this area? you can walk from dover lock at abram across the cow field, and under the railway bridge and you are there. then you can continue across bolton road onto the other side and that will take you to the three sisters. the forestry commision have planted tonnes of trees there and they are now becoming a good size. lots of rowans, so could be a good place for waxwing in the future. I have regularly seen great views of stonechat, little owl, tawny owl, kestrel, partridge, reed bunting, kingfisher, white throat to name a few. grasshopper warblers heard in the spring etc. and I know there have been sightings of long eared owl in the past.
