A quick look down rindle road this afternoon produced an adult peregrine, single barn owl and a male stonechat singing on wires over the scrubby area between moss lane and nook lane.
Hope carr had at least 3 green sands (these have regularly been on the small pool on the left just past the last new building as you approach the roundabout) and between 3 and 5 broods of gadwall on no1 bed. They were very difficult to count and seperate into broods as they seemed to be in a creche with several broods of mallard and were in and out of the reeds, a minimum of 27 though! At least 3 broods of little grebe on willow pool and 4+ comma butterflies for anyone interested as well as the usual banded demoseilles along the brook.
