hi geoff-as you say dslr probably best-like the avatar of mine-the sand martin-that was taken at 1x1000 of a second, ive found most none slr cameras have a shutter lag of at least 1/2 second that means the sand martin would have been 20 yards out of shot when the camera took the shot,if you pressed the shutter when the bird was in frame!!so like you said probably stay as i am-cheers for the reply anyway

john ,hang to your dslr ,most of my good shots have of very confiding fairly close subjects and when push comes to shove i, e the peregrines on the hotels i was left with 'record shots' untill one decied to come into range of my camera ,even then(100yrds)the best shots were taken from the tripod on full mag and digital assit with a 2snd timer set,its surprising how long that is.i.ve had look at some yours in the gallery and i,m quite sure i,ll end up with dslr if the funds ever allow it.but for £150 i,m still chuffed with my camera.
keep on klickin geoff

Hi Geoff Is this camera one of those "super compacts" with mega optical zoom, about 12x or even more? Thinking of getting one of these.
Cheers Dean.
