Have just left a question on the bbc breathing spaces link on autumnwatch asking if the beeb are going to make a breathing space for the wildlife disturbed by the Media city development and mentioning the use of the falconers. Will post any replies

Update: There has been more correspondence with BBC & Peel Holdings regarding this matter, & the Salford Star magazine with a feature on North Wharf should be out next week......more info soon..........

Thanks for the support and signatures........anyone free on Monday @ 10am to be part of a group photographed handing in petition ? I've been persuaded by the Salford Star to dress up as Tweetie Pie (no Little Ringed Plover suits in the Fancy Dress shop) for it so it should be a laugh

Salford Star magazine have started this petition:
"We, the undersigned, condemn the behaviour of Peel Holdings/BBC at the MediaCity:UK location of North Wharf on Salford Quays - disturbing birds such as Little Ringed Plover, Ringed Plover, Lapwings & Skylarks during the breeding season, using falconers, hawks and dogs.
We find this behaviour at odds with the eco-friendly ethics of the BBC and request that the organisations involved, as stated on the BBC website: Do One Thing For Nature - create a Breathing Place in Salford..."
It has already been signed by over 100 people
