2 Common Tern flying around and fishing on Bee Fold Lane, Atherton. Many Whitethroats, Sedge Warbler, Chiffchaff but there seems to be a shortage of Willow Warblers on my patch. Around 10 pairs of Swallow are breeding on Atherton Farm this year.
1 Common Tern on Daisy Hill Pond.
2 Tawny Owls, 1 Green & Great Spotted Woodpecker in Atherton Cemetery. I think a Nuthatch flew over but cant be certain.
It was nice watching two Long Eared Owls hunting this evening, not far from my house! I suspect they have young so I will keep the site quiet for obvious reasons!!
