Lesser Whitethroat still singing at the Vats this morning. Also 8 or 9 (must remember to take a note book, memory is fading with age) Goosanders flew onto river Irwell 2 Common Terns fishing on the canal at Little Lever then flew south west

The Vats at Croal-Irwell confluence , Sparrowhawk, 4 Swift, 15 Sand Martin,4 Song Thrush, 2 Mistle Thrush, Lesser Whitethroat singing, 2 Willow Tit, Linnet,2 Bullfinch. Hurst farm area, near Ringley, 2 Common Buzzard, Kestrel, 10 Lapwing, Great spotted Woodpecker, 2 Skylark, Pied Wagtail at nest,8 Blackcap,Common Whitethroat,12 Chiffchaff,20+ Willow Warbler, 2 Treecreeper, Linnet, 3 Yellowhammer, 2 Reed Bunting, also 4 Goosander ,2 male, on river Irwell at Ringley + Kingfisher.
