judith,i,ve had look round the abram field,s(behind the church) tonight because i saw a whitethroat or lesser last year and didn,t id it properly,will have a look again tommorow but i,ve asked mr woosey to help,on a positive note i did i.d my first sedge warbler and have added another tick.

Geoff- the Lesser Whitethroat is still there as Steven Astley saw it. Do you know the song? That's the easist way to pick it up.

judith,i was counting on the lesser to catapult me into 4th on the tourament board,so maybe i,ll have to start another plan,did half your bto survey on sunday got to 40 including a pike that leapt out the canal so still have much to study

Still 9 Blackwits at Dover Basin (8 in breeding plumage) and a singing Lesser Whitethroat, showing well, on the canal at Lightshaw Hall Flash nr the farm on the canal - a regular site for this species. Also Gropper singing on the marsh at Lightshaw
i did i.d my first sedge warbler and have added another tick.
