Grasshopper warbler reeling over the far side next to the dual carriageway at 11.30am. Got up to within feet of it but unlike the bird from last year it was keeping well hidden. Also 1 Sedge warbler, 4 Willow warbler and 1 Chiff chaff. 5 Common Tern and 5 Swallows.

Thankyou for that Joe. That is where I have seen and photographed them in the past. Last year it was much later so it is interesting that they are there much earlier this year. The green woodpecker is interesting too. I have had them in the woods near to my allotment at smithalls so they must be breeding around here somewhere. Will keep my eyes and ears open. Thankyou.

Heard calling for about an hour @ around 18:30 from the reedbed to the left of the causeway from the Markland Hill entrance, also had 2 sightings of Green Woodpecker flying over the site heading north west in the last month.
