As a 'pie-eater' Ian, I'm astonished you're not watching the mighty Wigan Warriors give Salford a lesson with the oval ball, like wot I am, laptop on knee...............now if you don't mind.............

Geoff - you don`t have to go to `lobby gobbler` land for Chiffchaff. If you can tear yourself away from the Smew there`s plenty around `the` flashes !

My regular full circuit of Pennington Flash this morning (before it got really windy and dulled over!) revealed 14 singing Chiffchaffs. Also present was a Little Ringed Plover on Teal Scrape, which had buggered off before I got there and (apparently) 19 Oysterctachers and 15 or so Redshank, although I didn't count them myself as being stuck in the hide meant I would have missed that Osprey/Red Kite had one or indeed both bothered to have the common courtesy to fly over, which of course they didn't
