Inland Sanderlings are always good to see. I remember a small group at Marbury a few years ago, almost in breeding plumage. They seem like a different bird altogether - compared with the usual sighting of a white bird dashing about at the tideline, on some windswept beach.

All the Sand Martins are at Inner Marsh Farm - at least 20 here !
Also 3 Swallows off Llanfairfechan together with 2 Slavonian Grebes in breeding plumage but we're straying a bit far from Manchester here though.

don't worry the swallows are here ,saw swallow and sand martin ,today at houghton green pool, and yesterday at penny this happens every year,or has since the mid 1970s,a few early, then the lot bang in about the 12th,when normally swallow, sand martin, and a few house martins, can be expected, then from the 20th onwards a few swift start to arrive.

As Hammy's sightings - The Ringed Plover was chasing the LRP around, so got a good comparison.
Also Blackcap singing next to Horrock's hide and 3 f. Goosander on the pool opposite New Hide.
Only had my bins with me so the BN Grebe was probably one of the distant black blobs near the yacht club.
Strangely no sign of any Sand Martins or Swallows - there weren't any at Houghton Green or Budworth Mere on Friday - have the early arrivals moved on or starved
