Please can anyone birding on Chat Moss and associated mosslands print off the map on the Sites page of this website and use the Field numbers when saying what they saw! We are fighting a constant battle against developers here and have to have the specific records to fight them off.

Bung this 370018,398580 into www.streetmap.co.uk. Its basically if coming north up Rindle road go past the turning for Astley Peat pools the road then turns left and then it turns right as its turning right take the left turn.
Great area to bird, ashame despite my name I have no claims over it if I did I would kick the scrap metal merchant with a chip on his shoulder of Astley Moss. What a stupid place to have a junkyard.

Hi , This is my first post on this excellent site I had a walk down Moss lane last Sunday afternoon in very bright sunshine which gave me great views of 3 Buzzards,2 Kestrels,1 Merlin and a Barn Owl that was hunting between the two farms on the right hand side of the lane. Two grey Partridge and many Lapwings were in the fields with at least 20 Pied Wagtails.A GS Woodpecker in a nearby tree rounded off a good hours birdwatching.
