Just been told this will be on the BBC tomorrow (Wednesday 7th)

It may be that the RSPB has squashed it with the BBC - they wouldn't supply a spokesperson. I had Andre Farrar, their PR chap, on the phone today, basically saying not to upset the apple cart as in a couple of years they would have shot them all in the UK and the problem would be over! He is due to speak at the March 13th Wigan RSPB meeting about RSPB policy issues (not Ruddies) and we were hoping he could answer questions on the Ruddy Duck issue then. But he would prefer to come up to the area earlier in the day, and meet with those concerned at a venue in the afternoon of 13th. He is to let me know if he can arrange this.

Judith,
I think the super-casino has wiped all other news items off the map for the next few days. Looks like the Lapwings and Ringed Plovers breeding on Sportcity's rough ground have now been condemned with this decision. They may get one last season, but not much hope after that!?
Lets hope there is better news for the Ruddy Ducks!

I've done the interview, but apparently it won't go out tonight as they won't be able to edit it in time. He thinks it will be tomorrow, but it might be later in the week depending on news items.
