My opinion is that in 3 or 4 days the berries in this estate will be gone.

Wigan town centre has about half a dozen Waxwings on Cambridge way, just 50 yards south of Hardybutts showing very well- although the lighting is poor. Also visiting the rowen trees was 1 fieldfare and redwing, which is unusual considering its in an urban setting. I will attempt to put a couple of pictures on Flickr tonight hopefully. There are plenty of berries to keep them happy for a while. Thanks....

Bredbury & Woodley. 13.45-15.00.
7 GM birders out looking this afternoon, without success. I first tried the Clapgate area but only found 1 reasonable berry tree (on Clapgate itself). Nothing around Tarmac. Also tried Bredbury Park Way industrial estate which had quite a few suitable berry trees. Also tried Woodley precinct where the usual tree in the centre of the square is well stocked with berries.
Cheers John

As this thread is intended for Waxwings throughout the county, could anyone posting to it please include which area the Waxwings are in as there are often (and hopefully will be!) multiple sites going on at any one time and even when replying to previous messages often leaves readers having to scroll through many posts to find out which area they are in. Please just take the few seconds longer it takes to add the location

No sign of Bredbury Waxwings at 14.20. Could still be in the Bredbury area finding berries in the nearby housing estates.

Had a look around Peregrine Rd at 15.15, so an hour after the reported sighting. Plenty of hawthorn berries in nearby hedgerows, plenty of Redwings feeding. No Waxwing for me but I have seen them in this area in previous years. Went on to check one or two other favoured areas around Offerton (including around Lisburn Lane) but zero. Didn't check Hall Street area but early days yet.
