A walk in the snow today didn't produce many birds, but there was a female brambling at the feeding station...a year tick for me at least!

Today a Dipper was feeding in the overflow channel on top res and a Kingfisher on pond near the car park. 2 Goosander on lower.

Feeding station started up for the winter and within minutes had
As I was walking back to my car, a Kestrel was going ballistic. It was being chased by the long staying female Merlin. It was on the tail of the Kestrel then grabbed it and both birds plummeted to the ground and out of sight. I got my camera and peered over the wall. The Merlin was on top of the Kestrel and I started to take some photos but nothing happened. Then I saw the warning in the viewfinder "No CF card". Doh!!!!

1 Nuthatch this morning (c0830) in the garden of Low Bank, also 4 Goldcrest, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Chiffchaff and 2 Coal Tits. Nothing too special on the reser's themselves.

Hi Mark,
I did notice Darviks on both the DS Swan - neither of them were ZH6 thus, not the same bird. sorry if i didn't make that clear. they're not overly common on the upland reservoirs.
