It's a long time since I was at Hope Carr, probably when the Pectoral Sandpipers were there a few years ago. Is there a best place to view from? For waders I mean. I seem to remember it being difficult viewing and involving climbing over fences etc. It would be useful to know because now that I live in Lowton I could potentially do Hope Carr on my bike as part of a circuit including Pennington Flash.

Its obviously a long time since you've been there, its changed dramatically, most of the old sludge beds are long overgrown with rank grass, there is very little mud to attract waders now,and personally I think its a shadow of its former self and hardly worth a visit in comparison to what it was 10 years ago.I used to go every day during "wader season" but nowadays once a year seems enough
