Hi folks,
Heard our first Cuckoo of the year on LWT Astley Moss SSSI this afternoon, also Dave Steel has reported Whimbrel on LWT Little Woolden Moss this morning.
Don't forget, if you want to explore our wonderful mosses, Little Woolden can be accessed along the public footpath, but for Astley Moss you MUST have a permit, which you can get (completely free of charge) by emailing Elspeth on eingleby@lancswt.org.uk with your postal address and phone number, and a short line about why you want access (eg birding, photography, botany, general wildlife, fresh air etc). I'll try and get back to you as soon as I can, but it can be between several days or a week before I have the office time to fill out permits so don't put it off!
thanks and happy spring birding!
