Irlam Moss 16.00
Whilst on my way to Little Woolden Moss I had to stop my car along Twelve Yards Rd as 7 young Swallows were sat on the road and the adults kept coming down to feed them. It seemed like 2 families of 4 & 3 young with there respective parents visiting them. It was raining at the time which may have forced the youngsters to the ground but it was interesting to watch for a few minutes.
They were also joined by 2 Goldfinches that fed on Dandelion seeds. Again, interesting to watch as one bird perched on the stalk of the plant causing it to bend to the ground so that both birds could then feed on the seeds.
A flock of 80+ Lapwing flew up from f22 before re-settling.
