Little Woolden Moss 07:00-10:45 today:
1 Peregrine with prey 1 adult Golden Plover and 1 juvenile 5 Green Sandpiper 2 Common Sandpiper 6 Wheatear 1 Greenshank 6 Snipe 7 Yellow Wagtail
1 Cetti's Warbler gave three blasts of song by the entrance gate; it was in the potatoe field and was briefly seen as left the field and flew into the reserve tree-line. An incredible record! 1 Raven 2 Willow Tit 2 Wheatear 2 Greenshank 1 Peregrine 1 Garden Warbler
Moss lane/Rindle road area this am, 3 Wheatear, Green Sandpiper flew over heading west and good numbers of Jay with at least 4 groups totalling 15 birds.
A quick look at Little Woolden today after seeing Dave who had already grilled the area produced in addition to his sightings the ever present Peregrine feasting on some unfortunate bird it had obviously just caught(the Greenshank was still about so at least it wasn't that). No sign of any Hobbies either here or at Chat Moss which i was hoping might be out hunting the numerous Dragonflies that were out in the sunshine .
