Just a brief update from after Ian's post. At 2pm, the resovior itself was largely free of birds apart from a mass flock around by the car park area (although I didn't stay long due to the heat), most of those seen were Canada geese and mallards. There was also a good number of juvenile black headed gulls (possibly around 25+) with adults in among them and one common tern resting. Finally, there was about a dozen adult lesser black backed gulls and 3 herring gulls with 2 adults and 1 juvenile.
