2 Swans were accidentally flushed by Jack Canovan from the Adlington side of the airfield at 08.55 and they appeared to land in GM. I re-found them on a tiny pool in a field near Upper Swineseye Farm and was amazed to see thtey were Bewick's. The pool is only a few metres from a footpath so no surprise they were soon flushed. 2 Local birders managed to get down just in time so there could be some good photos.
Also on the pool were 5 Teal and 2 Oystercatchers. 1 Buzzard and 4 Ravens over.
Cheers John

Higlight for me, on a quick run around Church Lane and Blossoms Lane, was finding 6 Siskin atop a tree on Blossoms Lane just after the stables. A Kestrel flew across the fields in the direction of Blossoms
Church Lane: 300+ Black headed gulls 2 Lesser black backed gulls Lots of gulls coming and going the whole time.
I was specifically searching for Mediterranean Gull so pulled up short when I found a white-winger. Unfortunately it was definitely a Black-headed Gull with white primaries. Typical adult Black-headed Gull bill and grey shade of mantle. In flight the grey mantle and inner wing contrasted abruptly with the white outer wing. Possibly a Med x Black-headed Gull hybrid.
Cheers, John.
