This morning more or less same as Rob below apart from no Hobby or Green sandpiper. Still plenty Blackcap, Willow Warbler and Whitethroat about but overall very quiet.

Got to work early so a quick wander from the motorway junction over South and East sides of the old tip.
Juvenile Stonechat on East side of the tip top this morning (6:30am). Not been here for many months as don't work in the area so much these days; q.v. don't know if this was a local bred bird or one passing through as no adults seen.
Kestrel on tip top, a few swifts (12+) passing over, Reed Bunting fliting in eastern hedge and a Greenfinch over at the junction and otherwise fairly quiet.
Anyone else finding North Cheshire quiet for Hobby this year? Only seen one all year to date when usually would have seen them on three or four sites (Manchester Mosses, along the MSC at various reserves, over Cheshire Mosses) by mid July?
