2 Grey Wagtails on the lakeside by the car park.
Horrocks Hide
7 Snipe and 2 Kingfishers
Ramsdales Hide
2 Green Sandpipers (One with an orange/red ring on its left leg), 1 Little Grebe, 1 Kingfisher and 1 Mistle Thrush.
Amongst the large raft of Tufted Duck resting in the bay were 3 females with large white patches to the base of their beaks, these birds stayed together even when they left the group.
They are though 100% Tufted, with noticeable tufts and dark saddles. They seemed to have a bond with each other, rather than any others in the group.
Also in the Tufted raft was a juvenile Great Crested Grebe, still with tiny wings, the youngster seemed at home amongst the ducks, and with the nearest adult grebe a distance away, it gave the impression
that the little fellow was orphaned. The youngster dived with the ducks, so there is every chance it will survive.
3 flocks of Long Tailed Tits were moving through the wooded areas, and with them were 4 Chiffchaffs, 1 Willow Warbler ( A very lemon coloured bird), 1 Common Whitethroat and 1 Coal Tit.
A Coot kept close to 1 tiny chick in front of the Teal Hide, with a nearby Grey Heron showing a keen interest, and slowly edging closer.
2 juvenile Greenfinches were at the feeding station, and another Kingfisher showing from Pengys Hide.

A couple of photos of todays black tern. The greenshank was also at the western end on the small patch of mud with all of the coots. It appeared to fly off whilst I was watching the tern, but about 30 minutes later I heard it again from the same area where I had initially seen it.

Quiet day but still with a few nice highlights including a dozen oystercatchers, lapwings, teal, gadwall, little grebe, willow tit (close), the usual stock doves, a chiffchaff was calling, and a buzzard around the canal.
