Birdguides is reporting a Yellow-browed Warbler at the Manchester Meeting Centre, which is part of the University of Manchester complex up by Sackville Street in the city centre, UMIST as I would think of it as a former student!
The report went on at 08.40.

St Ann's Square, 9am - A strange incident, where I noticed something apparently falling off the wall of a building, which turned out to be a Song Thrush. The bird ended up standing on the ground almost at my feet, presumably stunned by whatever had happened to it.
I was unsure what to do, but it fluttered away in a bit of a panic (without leaving the ground) when I got a bit closer, so I thought my attention was probably doing it more harm than good.
A new city centre tick for me at lunchtime, with a Moorhen near to Victoria Bridge Street on the River Irwell.

For the last two Saturdays there's been a single cormorant on the stretch of river in front of the cathedral, I also saw one on the same stretch during the winter months. It surprises me that there's anything living in such a dirty river for it to feed on.

Amazingly early that. I thought they only usually started nesting towards the end of April
Quite surprised myself, but the bird was sat tight on her nest watching the shoppers below her. Easy to spot as no leaves on the trees yet
