2 drake goldeneye, 4 pochard 3m 1 f, 19 gadwall, 2 great crested grebe, 1 liottle grebe, 1 cormorant, 1 lesser black backed gull, 3 mallard, 3 moorhen, 3 mute swan, c 40 each coot + tufted duck, c 30 black headed gull, 14 long tailed tit, 4 green finch with 2 chaffinch 4 more chaffinch much farther on, 11 blackbird, 1 kestrel, 2 redwing, 3 wren, 5 robin, 3 dunnock, small numbers great and blue tit, carrion crow, magpie, wood pigeon, 4 jackdaw. not seen any fieldfare at all as yet although i don't cover as much of the area as i used too ( some places i find too much like hard work because of damage caused by off roaders) i would still expect to see some fieldfare activity if only birds passing over ?

1 drake goldeneye, 6 pochard 4m 2f, 3 gadwall 2m 1 f, 1 little grebe, 3 great crested grebe, 3 mute swan, tufted duck, black headed gulls, 3 lesser black backed gulls, coot, moorhen, mallard, 1 very agitated kestrel turned on a carrion crow and saw it off and was then diving at something in the field but couldn't see what possibly a fox nicking it's prey,

7 redwing feeding with blackbirds in hawthorns, a total of 16 blackbird seen during walk, 11 long tailed tit, c30 goldfinch, several small mixed tit flocks mainly great tit with a few blue tit, 3 wren, 3 dunnock , 6 robin, magpie, wood pigeon, carrion crow, 5 jackdaw, 1 kestrel. diggle flash 6 gadwall on stock pond, 3 great crested grebe, 2 little grebe, c30 black headed gull, 3 lesser black backed gull, 1 common gull, c35 coot, c40 tufted duck, 4 mallard, 4 moorhen, 3 mute swan 1 adult 2 cygnets stretching their wings and flying the length of the flash twice before settling back down not seen the adult male for a couple of days ?

morning dog walk plenty of tits at least 4 different flocks mainly great tits, but i flock of 13 long tailed tits with 1 blue tit tagging along the great tit flocks also had a few blue and long tailed tits amongst them, charm of 26 goldfinch, at least 7 robin and 8 blackbird, i could hear a couple of redwings in deep cover but couldn't see them, 2 cock pheasant, 2 wren, 3 dunnock, wood pigeon, carrion crow, magpie, 8 jackdaw over, c60 pink footed geese over NW @ 09-48 diggle flash- c 40 each tufted duck and coot, 5 mallard, 4 mute swan 2 adult 2 cygnet, 3 little grebe, 17 black headed gull, 4 lesser black backed gull, 2 common gull, 3 moorhen, 4 great crested grebe, 5 gadwall on stock pond, willow tit heard near stock pond but not seen.

Couple of hours this afternoon, windy. Not many small birds about.

morning dog walk pretty quiet probably due to strong winds more birds heard in deep cover than seen the highlights being good views of a kestrel perched on a wooden fence post eating prey looked like a shrew,1 swallow with 3 house martin hawking over field and diggle flash, small numbers goldfinch and long tailed tit seen with more heard. the adult great crested grebe were out feeding the 2 youngsters on diggle flash but not many tufted duck showing presumably taking shelter in the reeds no gadwall seen again presumably taking shelter, 2 adult mute swan and 2 cygnets on bank of stock pond huddled down together,

morning dog walk
1 pied wagtail amongst a flock of 8 long tailed tits, 2 other tit flocks mainly consisting of long tailed tits but also with great tit and blue tits mixed in, robin, wren, blackbird and dunnock all foraging under overhanging bushes after the rain, usual magpie,carrion crow and wood pigeon but in general pretty quiet, diggle flash- 5 gadwal and 1 great crested grebe on stock pond, pair of great crested grebe on main flash with two recently fledged young this pair always seem to breed pretty late, 2 adult mute swan with 2 remaining cygnets, c 50 tufted duck, c 30 coot, 2 little grebe, 5 mallard, 3 moorhen, 2 lesser black backed gull, 14 black headed gull.
speaking to a couple of friends yesterday and they were asking why i wasn't posting as often, nothing sinister just a change in my work shift patterns means the majority of the walks i take with the dogs are now done in darkness so generally i don't see anything to report

decent numbers of very noisy gulls over diggle flash @06-00 am presumably from an overnight roost all bar a few black headed gulls had left by 06-10, , i picked out 2 great blacked backed gulls, 5 adult and several juvenile lesser black backed gulls and 2 common gulls amongst 70+ black headed gulls,

little grebe with at least 2 young on diggle flash i think there was another in the reeds but i never actually saw it,pair of mute swan with 6 cygnets, plenty of young coot with parents, 5 well grown mallard ducklings, 2 young moorhen, plenty tufted duck, 1 grey heron, reed warbler, sedge warbler, 1 lesser whitethroat showing really well, 4 whitethroat, blue tit, great tit, robin, dunnock, blackbird, magpie, carrion crow, wood pigeon, approx 10 each of swallow and swift over field beside flash,

Early this morning,
A Hobby was present this morning seen hunting on the border of C4/C6. Lots of Warblers singing including, Grasshopper, Sedge, Reed and Willow Warblers. A total of 8 Whitethroats were singing. A Single Garden Warbler was singing in C6, also two juvenile Blackcap in C6. 1 Water Rail heard in Nevisons Flash. Decent numbers of the usuals about Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Reed Bunting. Singles of Linnet, Snipe, Kestrel and Little Grebe.

A Single Garden Warbler was singing in C6, also two juvenile Blackcap in C6. 1 Water Rail heard in Nevisons Flash. Decent numbers of the usuals about Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Reed Bunting. Singles of Linnet, Snipe, Kestrel and Little Grebe.
